Most pads and tampons are made of synthetic materials like rayon and often contain plastics. Yoni products are made from organic cotton without the chemicals.
Cotton is one of the most sprayed upon crops in the world, impacting the environment and wildlife around it. We choose organic cotton because it’s good for your body and our planet.
We believe all people should know what their most intimate products are made from. That's why we list our ingredients on the pack.
What They Said
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Yoni pads and panty liners are biodegradable. They are made from organic cotton and have a bioplastic backing. This means they can be thrown on the compost heap or just in the normal trash. Most of the individual packaging is made from cornstarch and hence also biodegradable. Unfortunately only the paper stuck to the sticky side of the pad and panty liner is not compostable. This is something we are working on. And of course don’t forget to throw the outer carton packaging in the paper bin.
Where our organic cotton is sourced differs per batch of tampons and pads. We can trace the source via the batch number found on each box of Yoni product. All sources have been certified by the SOIL Association according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
On all of Yoni product packaging you will find a number of droplets. These droplets stand for the absorbency of the product and are industry standard. This makes it easy to compare products! For example if you are now using a tampon or pad with 3 droplets, then you can best switch to a Yoni product with 3 droplets as well.
