Are Yoni pads and panty liners biodegradable? +

Yes, Yoni pads and panty liners are biodegradable. They are made from organic cotton and have a bioplastic backing. This means they can be thrown on the compost heap or just in the normal trash. Most of the individual packaging is made from cornstarch and hence also biodegradable. Unfortunately only the paper stuck to the sticky side of the pad and panty liner is not compostable. This is something we are working on. And of course don’t forget to throw the outer carton packaging in the paper bin.

How do I know what size Yoni product I need? In other words, how can I compare absorption with the products I use now? +

On all of Yoni product packaging you will find a number of droplets. These droplets stand for the absorbency of the product and are industry standard. This makes it easy to compare products! For example if you are now using a tampon or pad with 3 droplets, then you can best switch to a Yoni product with 3 droplets as well.

Can I flush Yoni tampons or pads? +

Yoni tampons and pads are biodegradable but we do not recommend flushing them as all tampons and pads can cause blockages in your plumbing or septic systems.

Where is the organic cotton produced? +

Where our organic cotton is sourced differs per batch of tampons and pads. We can trace the source via the batch number found on each box of Yoni product. All sources have been certified by the SOIL Association according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
